Of Chinese ethnicity, I was born and grew up in France, studied in Canada and now I live in the United States. This multicultural environment shaped my open-mindness and my curiosity to get to know and understand others.

In France, I earned a Master’s degree in Food Science and a Master’s degree in Health & Nutrition then worked several years in the medical research field. From this previous experience, I keep an interest for evidence-based information, functioning of the human body and nutrition.

I moved in the United States in 2018 with my husband Bruno & daughter Meilan. One year later, our little boy Kaylan made his entrance in our life!

My passion for everything related to pregnancy, birth & postpartum began while I was pregnant with my first child. I was amazed by what the woman’s body was capable of and how a single cell could develop and become such a complex and unique human, with so much potential! There was so much to learn, so I dived into books, podcasts, videos, articles… and never really stopped.

From my personal experience, I realized how education, preparation and having a trusted supportive birth and postpartum team could make a difference. So, after the birth of my 2nd child, I took the opportunity and became a doula, to nurture families and give them strong foundations so they can grow confidently and thrive.

I then became a babywearing consultant to better serve families and make this amazing tool more accessible to my community.

The name Orchid & Olive has a personal meaning and also reflects how I envision parenthood.

The name of my children are Meilan, which means in Mandarin “Beautiful Orchid” (美 蘭) and Kaylan “Generous Olive Tree” (慨 欖). These are references to my roots, but also my husband’s who is from South of France and where we lived before moving to Nashville, TN. It all begun with them.

Orchids and Olive trees are both beautiful and robust plants, yet they are so different. The same way no 2 births, parents, families, babies are alike. They need understanding and nurturing. They are both complex but with enough personalized care and patience, they can grow strong and thrive.

Orchid is the symbol of love, beauty and strength. Olive tree represents peace, success and longevity. These are all I wish for you and your family.
